CLIP and CLIR launched with free registration

Caller Line Identity Presentation (CLIP) and Caller Line Identity Restriction (CLIR), two new value added services, have been launched by Cable & Wireless Seychelles today, 17th December 2002, to all of its' fixed line customers with free registration until 31st January 2003.

CLIP allows a customer to view the calling party's telephone number on their fixed telephone. So, if a customer has always wanted to know who is calling them before answering calls, then CLIP is the answer. However, if a customer wishes to keep their number private, the company is also offering the CLIR service, which prevents their number from appearing on another telephone or mobile that has the CLIP facility.

It is important to note that customers must have Caller Line Identification (CLI) handsets or purchase an add-on CLI unit in line with the customers telephone set to enjoy the use of CLIP.

Currently, customers will be able to purchase CLI enable handsets and caller display units locally at SoftCell (Sey) Ltd which is located on the second floor of the Adam Moosa building.

"We are really pleased to be able to provide these value added services to our fixed line customers", said Chief Executive Officer Geoff Houston. "This is part of our strategy to exceed our customers' expectations through the provision of meaningful services at affordable prices."

A rental fee of SR10.00 will apply for each service on a monthly basis. From 1st February 2003 customers will have to pay a registration fee of SR40.00.
