Following a series of innovative enhancements, which have enabled Cable & Wireless
customers to benefit from major improvements over the last 15 months, Cable &
Wireless has announced today that it is reducing its mobile rates & rentals for
all post-paid and prepaid customers by up to a staggering 50%.
What's new with Postpaid …?
As from 16th of February 2006, all existing Cable & Wireless post-paid customers
will now reap major benefits from MyChoice and MyChoicePlus, two brand new mobile
packages with hot rates and rentals. With these packages, the Company is also
the first to offer new "super off-peak rates" as low as 39 cents per minute from
11pm to 6am, 7 days a week. Even better, the company now guarantees free minutes
every month for every single existing and new postpaid customer! Below are the
new rates, packages and free minutes as compared to the previous offerings:

. . . A Prepaid delight!
In addition to the reductions on postpaid, all Cable Prepaid customers will also
benefit from massive rate reductions by up to 30%, also effective from 16th February,
with a new super off-peak rate at just 99 cents per minute! As is the case with
postpaid, this incredibly low rate can be enjoyed from 11pm to 6am, by all prepaid
customers (standard package only), 7 days a week!
Below are the new rates as compared to the previous offerings:
| OLD RATES | NEW RATES |
| Standard Package | Standard Package |
| Peak : SR4.22 Off Peak : SR2.11 |
Peak : SR3.20 Off Peak : SR1.49 Super Off Peak : SR0.99 |
| Talk 'n Save | Talk 'n Save |
| SR3.99 for the 1st min | SR3.20 for the 1st min |
| SR2.85 per 3 mins after the 1st min of talktime | SR2.60 per 3 mins after the 1st min of talktime |
These significant reductions will enable all prepaid customers to talk more for less, whilst still reaping the added benefits of free extra talktime on all SR100 (extra SR10 free talktime) and SR200 (extra SR30 free talktime) Extra Value Cards. What this means is that customers get an extra 10% reduction in price, over and above the rate cuts, bringing the total value benefit for prepaid to 40%!
Personally thrilled and excited with these changes, CEO Usman Saadat, said: "Cable & Wireless is overjoyed to pass on such huge reductions for the benefit of its mobile customers across the board! The company is immensely proud to be the only operator that now offers the best off-peak rates, new unmatched super-off peak rates, the lowest postpaid rental, free minutes for every single postpaid customer, a choice of prepaid and postpaid packages plus a whole lot more! All this clearly demonstrates Cable & Wireless' commitment to sharing our success with you, our customer, whilst providing you with the best value-for-money! We now look forward to bringing the advantages of a new, state-of-the-art network to your fingertips! "
… Recent developments & improvements
In November last year, the company announced a SR35 million investment plan that
will see the implementation of a brand new GSM/GPRS (2.5G) mobile network, which
is also third generation (3G) capable by mid 2006. The new network will enhance
the company's overall mobile offering that will soon allow customers to revel
in the joy that advanced value-added services like MMS (Multimedia Messaging),
WAP (Mobile Internet Browsing) and GPRS data services bring. As recently as January
this year, Cable & Wireless fully acquired Atlas (Seychelles) Ltd., a leading
local Internet Service Provider, in its aim towards providing for all customer
communication needs under one roof. Last year also saw the company offer its mobile
customers extra value when it fixed its SMS rate at 45 cents per message making
it the lowest rate for SMS in the country.
