CIS Seychelles Goes Live!
Smooth transition to new billing system

Cable & Wireless Seychelles has announced the successful migration of its mobile customer base to a new billing system known as CIS, which is the same system type used by the Cable & Wireless group globally. The migration was conducted on the weekend of March the 16th through to Monday the 19th and was achieved without any setbacks, testament to the teamwork, commitment and near flawless project execution from the team involved. Alise Saminaden, the Project Manager based in Seychelles, headed the local team that worked with other collaborators overseas to ensure this smooth transition.

Cable & Wireless Seychelles now has a common billing and customer care platform for all of its services providing the following advantages, amongst others:

  1. Common system and standard processes within Cable & Wireless with lower operating expenditure for the company;
  2. Enhanced customer experience through: (i) a now faster service at all Cable & Wireless Customer Service Centres, (ii) the possibility of merged fixed-line and mobile bills in the coming months and (iii) less billing errors;
  3. Improved quality and control over billing processes.

Mr. Charles Hammond, CEO of Cable & Wireless Seychelles, said: "This project is the second large project delivered to plan in Cable & Wireless Seychelles within 10 months. The first was the implementation of the new GPRS 2.75G (3G capable) mobile network from Nokia, which has already brought new and advanced services such as Mobile Internet and Multi Media Messaging (MMS) to our customers. As ONE TEAM, we are moving in the right direction in our ongoing quest to enhance the customer experience and cement our position as the market leader!"

Cable & Wireless Seychelles injected just over SR4.5 million into this new billing system having already invested millions of rupees during the past 12 months into various system improvements and upgrades for the benefit of its customers.
